Contest

One of the first blogs I ever followed still happens to be one of my favorites…Style Me Pretty. I have just sent this palette in as a contest entry meant to center around one fabulous dress. The dress I selected is by Jim Hjelm (one of my favorite designers), so we’ll see if it makes the cut=).

I must say I was SO excited to come home for this amazing wedding! Kayli is one of my good friends from college, and I like to think of myself as a matchmaker when it comes these two…although everyone saw it coming=). Such a fun couple…

Married at The Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach, I’m loving the details of this wedding! P.s. can I ride that horse?

The bridesmaids all got to choose their own dresses (love), and the dessert bar was….let’s just say AWESOME! I had one two many mini cupcakes=).

A few more of my fav’s. Such gorgeous shots! The sun was perfect, the couple was stunning…what else can you ask for? So vintage…and well…perfect! Congratulations again to the newlyweds!

I think I should give fair warning that my personal posts will be on the rise over these next few months! I think since I’m getting married in November, I have a pretty good excuse=). That being said…our photographer friends were shooting a recent wedding we attended, so they snuck in a few fun shots of us! They have also been gracious enough to offer us a free engagement session…so I’m really excited! Check our more of his work at jklewerimaging.blogspot.com!

So…I have failed pretty miserably at keeping up with blogging lately. Between coming home, starting school, and wedding planning, life has been crazy! But with a lot of negotiating and prayer, I think we have finally found our venue. Although not official just yet, I couldn’t wait to share! Located in Irvine, Ca…it has the rustic feel I was hoping for, and I’m so thankful and excited=).

Taking a quick breather from packing…I will officially be moving back to SoCal tomorrow as a newly engaged woman=). I’m SO excited…mixed with a little bit of sadness to be leaving N. Ireland and the amazing friends I’ve made here…mixed with even a little bit more stress trying to figure out HOW I’m going to get everything home! This pic. is so going to be me at the airport tomorrow…all by lonesome! Anyway, this is clearly a complete detour from what I usually use this blog for…but all the same. Happy Wed. everyone!

Colors: Peach, Brown, Champagne

I LOVE getting requests to put together color palettes for people I know. There is something more personal to it, and I feel more inspired to blog when I have a direction for what I’m looking for. This palette is for one of my sister’s close friends (Chantal) who recently got engaged at one of her fiance’s singing performances…cute, right?

I seriously love this picture! It is from an adorable engagement shoot done by Stephanie Williams…who happens to be in the running of photographers I want to shoot for my wedding! Check out more of her work at stephaniewilliamsphotography.com/blog!

So, amidst all the research for my friend Amber’s wedding colors, I ended up with some extra material, which I’ve now chose to put into yet another color palette. I’m loving the flower centerpieces.

Also, I’m sorry that I don’t have credits posted! I just pulled from a bunch of sources that I hadn’t saved!

Here is another go at color ideas…I tried incorporating magenta since that was the other color you were thinking about. The two look cute together, especially if you pair it with a lighter shade of turquoise and champagne. Hope you like it! Let me know if you need/want any more ideas!

So…one of my closest friends Amber, who was originally aiming to get married this fall, has just bumped up her date to put her wedding right in the middle of summer…hence changes in colors, ideas, etc. I’m attempting to brainstorm with her to help combine colors that she will LOVE, so here is round 1. Turquoise/teal being the primary color with yellow accents. Bright, fun, and perfect for summer!

P.s. I incorporated one of the dresses she liked for a bridesmaids option(top left)…and of course, my favorite one had to be $475!
